Each week we handpick our favorite videos that we’ve filmed throughout the hallways of the Rio at the 43rd Annual World Series of Poker. This week is no different. Enjoy!
Straddling Behind the Scenes
Sadly, this is the last episode (for now) of The Straddle. This week, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Greg Raymer, and Ryan D’Angelo all score cameos.

Mr. Doft
Our very own Mickey Doft is known around the poker media traps as the top man when it comes to counting chips. If there’s ever an uncertainty, Doft has you covered. Our cameraman caught Mickey on the sly when he was tackling the chip leader’s stack during a break on Day 3 of the Main Event. This is a prime example of the efforts our hardworking team go to delivering your beloved PokerNews Live Reporting.

Explain This, Amanda
Former PokerNews hostess, Amanda Leatherman, returns to our screens for a sexy episode of Explain This. After an intense process of elimination, Leatherman explains what’s going on in a selected batch of photos we found on her private Facebook page. Trust us when we say, the best was saved for last.

The Pollak
Many Hollywood actors grace the felt of the Main Event each year, and this year’s lineup included Kevin Pollak. We spoke with him at the end of his Day 2 when he was ecstatic to have simply made it to Day 3. If only he knew he was going to drive that short stack all the way through to 134th place!

Fault!
Tennis icon and newest Team PokerStars Pro Rafael Nadal recently made his debut at the world’s leading online poker site. Last week, Nadal was introduced to the PokerStars Mobile app and then quickly learned how not to play a small pocket pair.
Rafa’s first lesson: Don’t trust anybody. Not even a poker coach.
Clearly, he still has a lot to learn about the game. Nadal is currently preparing for the London Olympic Games and U.S. Open, but he plans on honing his poker game online later in the year. We’re excited to see the eight-time French Open winner at the PokerStars tables in the near future.

End of an Era
On Sunday, poker pro Adam Junglen announced he will be taking an extended break from the game after a “disappointing” end to his 2012 World Series of Poker.
Junglen, who has close to $1 million in live tournament cashes, says he wants to focus on “finding happiness” rather than continue his career on the felts. Junglen played in 20 events this summer, cashing three times without any final tables.
“It’s completely normal to be burnt out from the tourney grind after the (World Series), but this year I’ve slowly noticed the enjoyment level just isn’t quite as high as it used to be,” Junglen wrote in his blog. “My backer and friend for over 5 years now, Daniel Negreanu, had noticed and we agreed it’d be in my best interest to take an extended break from poker. Basically just work on finding happiness, something I’ve unintentionally set aside for quite some time now.”

MicroMillions II Winners
The second edition of the PokerStars MicroMillions tournament series continued over the weekend with nearly 30 affordable events for the low-limit grinders.
The biggest event came on Sunday when 36,523 players pit up the $11 buy-in for the PokerStars Sunday Storm Micro Millions Special. The $365,230 prize pool was bigger than ever Sunday Major except for the Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-up. After nearly 11 hours of play, Russia’s “@rtemur” defeated Ukraine’s “Rom4iks” for the victory and $31,376. Not a bad return on an $11 investment!
Here’s a look at all of the winners from the weekend:
1 | Roger Hairabedian | “63,890 |
2 | Hicham Zaakour | “40,960 |
3 | Kamal Sefrioui | “26,390 |
4 | Philippe Barouk | “19,110 |
5 | Karim Bennani Smires | “14,380 |
6 | Mohamed Benboubker | “11,380 |
7 | Rachid Arbaoui | “9,560 |
