#5 – Scott Montgomery
This young man from Perth in Ontario had a bumper year in 2010, winning his first WSOP bracelet at the £1000 No Limit Hold’em Event. His most spectacular prize to date, though, came when he finished fifth at the 2008 WSOP Main Event, winning $3,088,012. Scott’s poker winnings now total $4,109,854.
#4 – Nenad Medic
6 foot 4 inches of solid, rippling muscle could be an intimidating sight before any action ensues, but when Nenad Medic plays, the aggression levels reach stratospheric heights. He is a nice person away from the table, but if you see him in front of you across the velvet, be afraid – be very afraid. He won a WSOP bracelet in 2008, and now has poker winnings totaling $4,359,505.
#3 – Tuan Lam
Born in war-torn Vietnam in 1966, Tuan Lam arrived in Canada as a 19-year-old. He learned how to play poker from friends whilst working as a general laborer – then made it to the final table of the 2007 WSOP Main Event. In addition, that is when his life changed: he returned to Mississauga $4,840,981 richer. He has been a regular at the WSOP ever since, and has amassed total poker winnings of $4,851,424.
#2 – Jonathan Duhamel
Leaping into second place with total poker winnings of $9,067,272 is a young man from Boucherville, Quebec. Jonathan Duhamel only became legally eligible to play at the WSOP in 2010. Incredibly, the 23-year-old went on to win at the final table, stashing a stunning $8,944,310.
#1 – Daniel Negreanu
Its official: Daniel Negreanu is not only the number one money winning Canadian poker pro; he is the number one money-winning player in the world! This year, his total poker winnings reached an Olympian $14,131,104. In addition, got bragging rights over no fewer than four WSOP bracelets, too.

Our fifth place in the Australian stakes goes to the man who introduced poker legend Joe Hachem to the WSOP in 2005 – Emad Tahtouh. Emad has not matched Joe’s spectacular success to date, but he is still a player to be reckoned with. By the end of 2010, he has amassed $812,367 in total poker winnings and gave a blinding performance at the 2006 European Poker Championships. He finished second to win $535,977.
Our fourth place goes to a young man from Brisbane in Queensland. Mark Vos has acquired a prestigious WSOP bracelet, 9 WSOP cashes and a grand total of $1,248,438 in poker winnings during his career. He divides his time between Australia, where he lives, and South Africa, where he was born.
Bounding into third place is an Australian with a reputation for having a decidedly loud mouth. However, thankfully, Tony Guoga (aka ‘Tony G’ or “the mouth from down under”) is also blessed with a decidedly formidable talent for turbo-charged aggressive play. He has accrued $2,519,754 in total poker winnings to date, and shows no sign of easing up.
Slipping ahead of ‘Tony G’ into the runner up position is Mel Judah, who can claim bragging rights over numerous remarkable WSOP finishes over the years. Born in Calcutta, India, Judah (aka “the Silver Fox”) now has Australian citizenship and is the proud owner of two WSOP. His poker earnings total $2,998,986.
Way out in front with a stunning total of $10,775.017 is a veritable Australian poker superstar – Joe Hachem. $7,500,000 of his poker fortune came from one breathtaking victory – the 2005 WSOP Main Event, when he seemed to come from nowhere to take the crown. The former chiropractor now lives with his family in Melbourne.
