The World Poker Tour is returning to Fox Sports Net in February with all-new episodes from Season X. The season premier kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. local time on FSN.
Because of the immense success of Season IX, which saw rating increase by 30 percent, FSN has expanded the number of WPT episodes from 26 to 37 in Season X. Each tournament will be broken into three separate episodes, showing viewers more action leading up to the final table and a look at some of the behind-the-scenes footage.
“The steadfast effort put into revamping the World Poker Tour last season was rewarded with resounding fan and viewer support,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “For WPT Season X, we’re debuting more innovations and giving our audience even more reasons to tune in each week.”
Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten will be back in the booth for the tenth year, providing commentary for each televised event. They will be joined by WPT anchor Kimberly Lansing, Raw Deal analyst Tony Dunst, and the Royal Flush Girls from the sidelines.
New episodes of WPT Season X will air every Sunday at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., along with a repeat airing every Wednesday at 11 p.m. on FSN.
“WPT Season IX redefined poker programming and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Season X will see more new elements that we expect the audience will love and will further enhance the timeless appeal of our show,” said WPT CEO Steve Heller. “World Poker Tour’s sustainability is not only a testament to continual innovation, but also to co-hosts Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, who have been the best in the business for an incredible ten years.”
The World Poker Tour has seven Main Events left on the Season X schedule, plus a $100,000 High Roller at Bellagio in May. There are two tournaments in Europe yet to touch down; the next stop overseas will be in Venice, Italy, from Feb. 6 through 11, followed in March by WPT Vienna, which set the record last year for largest field at a WPT Main Event in Europe.
Here is a look at the upcoming 2012 WPT schedule:

Speaking on the PartyPoker Blog, PartyPoker ambassador Mike Sexton is looking forward to the upcoming WPT season. He is taking all the Royal Flush girls with him, and the tour will be televising several European events back in the US.
“We’re going back to Paris and are televising our WPT event in Vienna in the U.S. as well. The entire entourage including myself, Vince Van Patten, anchor Kimberly Lansing, Tony Dundst, the Royal Flush girls and the crew will be going overseas. The WPT had an impressive 35% increase in viewers in Season IX, and I look for things to be even better in Season X.
