While it has always been our purpose to produce top-notch books and a top quality website,
it’s also our purpose to help point our readers (of both our books and the Two
Plus Two Poker Strategy website) to other entities that have value. So to this
purpose, I want to mention a relatively new website specializing in poker news called Subject: Poker.
In the past, many of those websites that came under the domain of poker news have and are
also large affiliate farms. This unfortunately has the potential to distort exactly what
is reported. Specifically, if a company is deriving a large portion of their income from
a certain source, it’s tough to be critical of that entity. Even though Two Plus Two has
a different business model from the affiliate farm business, we are not completely immune
to this problem either even though we do our best.
So, what is needed in our industry is a source of poker news that is completely independent
of those entities which could influence it to see the news somewhat different from the way
it may actually be, and that’s precisely the situation with Subject: Poker. Also,
if you look at their “About Subject: Poker” page, you’ll see that many of their team are
actually regulars on Two Plus Two, but they are also completely independent of us and in
fact have no advance knowledge that this Publisher’s Note is about them.
Anyway, we at Two Plus Two want to recommend this new site to those of you who are not yet
aware of it. I’m now a regular reader and have already learned a great deal about the goings
on in our world of poker and believe that many of you should also find it worthwhile.
