Jungleman Wants To Take On Tony G

In December 2011 Daniel “Jungleman” Cates issued a challenge to the world where he offered to play anyone heads-up if they were prepared to sit down with at least “100,000 and play with blinds of “200/”400. Nobody took him up on that offer so the terms were changed and a ring game was played at the Prague festival. It was much the anti-climax, despite Tony G running his mouth with his infamous smack talking but it appears the challenge may be back on the cards.

Both Tony G and Cates are currently at the Aussie Millions, in fact Tony G just finished fourth in the $100,000 Challenge for $242,000, where during an interview with the pair Cates revealed he was hoping to resurrect the heads-up challenge.

Tony G said, “We want to play a bit of poker here, have a bit of fun. This is not Prague this is Melbourne and there is a lot of money about and I think we’ll get a game for the greatest player in the world, Jungleman.”

Cates was asked who he would most like to take on if a challenger could be found and he responded by saying he wants to face Tony G because apparently the PartyPoker Pro “talks so much s**t!”

The Aussie Millions are now in full swing and the vocal and often controversial Tony G is already there grinding it out at the cash tables. Tony G At The Aussie Millions

Tony G is currently in Melbourne for the 2012 Aussie Millions though it is the cash games that have been keeping him busy, not the excellent selection of tournaments that are on offer. In his popular blog on the PartyPoker site, Tony G describes how he has been playing a lot of cash games since arrive in Australia. “The sun is shining and the cash action has already started here at Crown and i am hitting them harder than the giant hailstones hit my car during the freak weather here on Christmas Day”

He goes on to inform his legion of fans that he is only up a small amount but Patrik Antonius won over $1,000,000 in a single session. The loud-mouthed Lithuanian then tears a strip from Bobby Bellande and says he is looking forward to Daniel “Jungleman” Cates and the infamous Hong Kong business men from Macau arriving for the cash games. “It’s going to be a feast,” according to Mr G.
