We have two important pieces of news to report this month. The first is that our annual Two Plus Two Party, which we hold at the beginning of the Main Event at the World Series of Poker every year, will be held at the South Point Hotel & Casino on July 6. We expect to serve a buffet at 6:00 pm, but the official starting time is still not yet finalized because we’re hoping to have a special activity before the buffet. As we know more, we’ll be posting in the RSVP thread and elsewhere on the forum.
There should now be an RSVP thread in our Las Vegas Lifestyle forum. So if you plan to come, and yes you can bring a friend, please let us know in this thread. By the way, for those who don’t know, South Point has a beautiful poker room and after meeting with the South Point people, we’re confident that it will be a terrific party.
Our second piece of news is that our latest book, Applications of No-Limit Hold ‘em: A Guide to Understanding Theoretical Sound Poker by Matthew Janda is now available. We also hope to have an ebook version available around the middle of the month. For those who want to know more about this text, and initial reaction has been quite positive, there are a couple of threads about it on our Books and Publications Forum. Our author, Mathew Janda has been participating, so all questions about Applications of No-Limit Hold ‘em have been getting very good answers.
Finally, for those of you who will be coming to Las Vegas and participating in the World Series of Poker, we at Two Plus Two wish you the best of luck. While I’m not much of a tournament player, I do expect to be playing some, mostly in the evening at The Bellagio. So if you see me, please feel free to say hello.
3Bet Poker Clothing announced on Tuesday that it has signed poker pro Ben Tollerene to represent its clothing line at tournaments around the world. Tollerene, best known for playing the highest stakes available online, joins a stout roster of 3Bet pros that includes Antonio Esfandiari, Doc Sands, Jason Koon, Jonathan Little, Greg Mueller, Scott Clements, Brian Rast, and Jeff Gross.
Playing under the screenname “Bttech86″ at Full Tilt Poker, Tollerene is one of the biggest winners over the past two years and has played dozens of epic heads-up matches against Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom, with millions of dollars changing hands by the week. Tollerene says he plans to wear his 3Bet gear while grinding online and at the upcoming World Series of Poker, which kicks off next week.
“I’m so excited to join the incredible roster of players on Team 3Bet and am honored to wear the line both when grinding online and at several of the big tournaments at the WSOP next month,” Tollerene said.
Tollerene is planning to play this year’s $111,111 buy-in One Drop High Roller tournament in addition to the $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship, the Main Event, and several other big buy-in bracelet events. He can probably be found playing some massive live cash games around Las Vegas, too.
“Ben is obviously a tremendous player and fits in perfectly with our current team of young, elite professionals,” said 3Bet owner Kevin Talbot. “He has been one the game’s top players for years, and we’re excited that the poker world is really starting to recognize his talent.”
